Privacy policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026.
BlurThis (“we”) provides a browser tool to blur or cover details on a screenshot. This policy explains what we collect and what we do not.
Screenshots and the editor
- There is no account and no password on this site.
- We do not run a database of your images or redactions.
- Your screenshot is processed only in your browser. It is not uploaded to our servers with a form or API request.
- We do not write images to localStorage, cookies, or IndexedDB. Closing or refreshing the page, or tapping Clear, removes the picture from memory.
Information you send us
If you email blurthis@gmail.com, we receive whatever you include in that message (your address and the body of the email) so we can reply. We do not use that mail to build a marketing list.
Cookies and Google ads
The editor itself does not set cookies. Some pages (for example articles) may show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. Ads are never placed on the screenshot canvas.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses data from partner sites in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Hosting
The website files are hosted by a hosting provider (currently Vercel). They may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, as any host does, to operate and secure the site. We also use Vercel Web Analytics to see page views and referrers. That product is designed not to use cookies and does not receive your screenshots. Those logs are not the screenshot editor and do not contain the pixels of images you open in the tool.
Children
This site is a general utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
