How to blur a Zoom recording before sharing
Cover participant names and chat in a meeting MP4. Trim, timed blur, download locally.
Zoom and Teams can save a meeting to the cloud or to disk. Before you share that file with HR, a client, or YouTube, names in the participant strip and chat overlays need to go. You do not need a full editor license for a five-minute cut.
How to blur a Zoom recording before sharing
- Export or download the MP4 from Zoom local recording or cloud (if you own the meeting).
- Open the file on the Video tab at BlurThis. Trim to the segment you will publish.
- When the participant list appears, Blur In over that corner. Blur Out when the layout changes.
- Repeat for chat pop-ups or shared screens that show unrelated tabs.
- Download and share only the redacted export.
Gallery view vs speaker view
Gallery view moves faces. Use a larger box or multiple timed segments. Speaker view is easier: one face, one box, one In/Out pair per speaker change if they swap.
