How to redact video for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts
Hide addresses, logos, or bystanders in a short vertical clip before you post.
You want to post the funny moment but not your address on the mail envelope, a stranger in the background, or your kid’s school logo. Cropping sometimes works. When the thing you need hidden is in the middle of the frame, blur or pixelate on a short clip is faster than reshooting.
Redact video for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts
- Trim the clip to under 90 seconds in BlurThis (Video tab).
- Blur In when the sensitive detail is on screen. Size the box with a little padding.
- Blur Out when the detail leaves frame or the scene cuts.
- Export vertical video as-is; the tool does not re-crop for platforms.
- Post the downloaded file from your camera roll or desktop.
Audio and faces
Blurring video does not remove spoken names. Cut audio in another app if needed, or avoid saying PII on camera. For faces, oval blur at high strength; for text on packaging, pixelate.
Do not screenshot the preview
