How to blur a video for a support ticket

Redact names, inboxes, and tokens in a screen recording before you attach it to Zendesk, Jira, or email.

Support wants a screen recording of the bug. The recording also has your inbox sidebar, customer names, or internal URLs. A trimmed, redacted clip keeps the repro steps and drops the directory of your company.

  1. Record the repro (Windows Game Bar, macOS screenshot toolbar, or phone screen record).
  2. Upload to BlurThis Video tab. Trim to the shortest segment that still shows the failure.
  3. Pixelate or black-bar regions that are not the bug: email list, token in the address bar, account switcher.
  4. Use Blur In / Blur Out so covers appear only when those UI parts are on screen.
  5. Download and attach the export to Zendesk, Jira, or email.

What support still needs to see

Leave error text, button labels, and version numbers sharp. Redact adjacent PII even if it feels unrelated — reviewers forward clips. If you must show a URL, bar the query string and keep the path.

Still-image tickets: redact a customer support screenshot. Zoom recordings: blur a Zoom recording.
